A Bit About Me
Joshua Cortes, B.S., LCSW is an American Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, Child & Family Therapist, Couples/Marriage Counselor, Clinical Social Worker, and Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Cortes Counseling based in Connecticut. His Youtube channel covers and discusses DCM mental health disorders and psychological findings of the social work world.
Mr. Cortes's specializations and expertise are in anxiety, depression, anger management, trauma/PTSD, career counseling, psycho-religious counseling, couples & marriage counseling, separation/divorce, and child & family therapy, and parenting counseling.
He has also had formal training/clinical experience treating adolescents, adults, couples, & families with: Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Behavioral Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders, Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders, Bipolar and Related Disorders, Personality Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, and Eating Disorders.
Josh is from the Bronx, NY; and in his free time he enjoys studying Psychology, Psychiatry, Language, Philosophy, Psychics, Astrophysics, Cosmology, and Metaphysics in his free time. For hobbies, he participates in mixed martial arts, boxing, making music, and is also a former competitive bodybuilder. Josh also creates therapeutic long-form virtual content on YouTube to provide his psychological and psychiatric findings in his research of the social work world. Josh is charismatic, empathetic, conscientious, forthright, & strongly believes that the underlying unconscious/identification of a person is always seeking to find equilibrium with the ego, id, and the super-ego. Which is a state in which every working part of a person’s psychology is in harmony. So that what they unify in construction, works at its most effective and efficient. As the great Clinical Psychologist Sigmund Freud once said:
“A man should not strive to eliminate his complexes, but to get into accord with them; they are what legitimately directs his conduct in the world.”
